Welcome to greenmountainsolar. My name is Chris Niner. I live near High Rolls, New Mexico. I decide to build an off-grid home in june of 1997 when I bought 5 acres of mountain property and an old Airstream trailer. It was a learning experience to say the least. Now that I have most of the kinks worked out, I figured I may be able to help others make a positive impact on the environment and on their wallets! Even if You never set eyes on a solar panel or wind generator, you can still learn how to cut your energy use dramatically without sacrificing your lifestyle.. I have set up gridtie solar electric systems as well as off-grid systems. I can show You how to back up the important stuff in your home without being there to run a noisy generator. I can also assist you in setting up your own water harvesting system. I have a 12,000 gallon set up here and it works great.
I spend less than $25 per month for my water, heat and electricity. Since energy costs have nowhere to go but up, the environment suffers from pollution and plenty of people around the world arm themselves against us with the money spent on energy. I believe it is time to start to make a real difference.
